Who we are looking for

As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining our web based experiences in a collaborative team environment. You will collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet the needs of our users. Besides, you will liaise with Tech Leads and Architects to ensure your solution is in line with our technical vision. You will provide leadership, guidance and patterns in the implementation of solutions using a variety of programming languages and technologies. You will champion agile software development practices such as test driven development, continuous delivery and pair programming and take overall responsibility for the technical quality of the solution. Furthermore, you will liaise with Systems Engineers to deploy your solutions to production environments and monitor its performance. Last but not least, you will use your skills and experience to mentor more junior team members.

  • Designing, coding, testing and deploying quality web applications to meet the needs of our consumers

  • Working with stakeholders to design high quality solutions that meet the needs of our users

  • Leading the implementation of major products and initiatives

  • Supporting and maintain applications in production environment with minimal downtime – you build it, you run it!

  • Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint and release planning, reviews, retrospectives, demos and other Scrum-related meetings

  • Carry out code reviews and continuously improves software source codes

  • Take collective ownership of the code, make it the best it can be

  • Continuously research for process improvements and new applications

  • 8+ years of work experience in Software Application development

  • Strong knowledge in product development using open source languages, web application frameworks and libraries, such as JavaScript, React.JS, Node.JS, Redux, Ruby on Rails

  • Proficient in working across the tech stack – from Frontend to the Backend and everything in between; writing server-side JavaScript

  • Skilled in designing of high-performance dynamic web-based products and services, that scale to millions of users

  • Solid understanding of RESTful API and JSON; experience with GraphQL is a bonus

  • Advance skills in modern software development techniques such as, test driven development, micro-services architecture.

  • Experience in writing clean code and refactoring techniques, Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)

  • Familiar with Cloud Computing services (AWS) and associated technologies
